At what point or hp do you go with an aftermarket driveshaft?

Is aluminum the best?

Floyd, did you have yours custom made?
If so, who made it for you?

Thanks,

JB

IF YOU PUT DOWN OVER 400HP AND CAN STICK IT A NEW DRIVESHAFT IS IN ORDER I HAVE A STEEL 3.5 IN DIAMETER THAT A LOCAL DRIVESHAFT COMPANY MADE UP WITH 1330 JOINTS COST WAS 266.00 YOU'LL FIND ALUMINUM SHAFTS ARE QUITE A BIT MORE EXPENSIVE BUT ARE ALOT LIGHTER

Just convert it to a rear engine car and you dont have to worry about it. BTW thanks for the reminder I need to look in to driveshafts to mine is pretty worn (darn drive shaft loops)

That is a great deal!
Even if you didn't really need it, for 200 bucks it would be worth it.
Thanks for the info-

Jared, check with Blumenthal's driveline shop in OKC. They custom make driveshafts also. They may be more expensive than Floyd's place but wouldn't hurt to check. I have had them shorten and balance a few driveshafts. If you need the number holler back.  Monte

You'll probably need one before I do, but when you're ready let me know.
Since I live close, I can go talk to those guys and see if they'll make us a deal.

Will be a bit till I need mine. I had been looking at the strange ones. Not sure what to get yet. I was thinking steel since I am going to run 16 inch slicks and my car is kind of heavy. But would love to run aluminum.
