streetisez Junior Member Offline Chevy Speed Posts: 67	Re: Tire choice Poll Reply #16 - 08/09/06 at 14:32:57 i run 12 pound air in the hoosier tire & had to run 9 in the m/t. victor penrod runes 15 pounds in the camero with a 9inch tire 60 foot 1.41 . that's stock suspenion & 6.33 gears. the m/t's are good tires .

I used to race with a pretty small bias ply tire on my nova all the time. Course it was only a 8.0 car. Grin

My 28x10.5 goodyears stuck pretty well with my big block but not great. Too much torque I would guess. I could drive it off the line pretty well though just because I had made so many passes in the car before with smaller tires.

After seeing the track at lawton with pretty good grip, I can't wait to try it out!

I would love to gear just for the 1/8th would make for some great launches. But I would hate to run out of RPM on the big end. His camaro does launch well with those 9 inch slicks! Chris

The guys that I know that run the drag radial classes picked up about a half second after switching to M/T radials.
