Jared Black's 1969 Nova Project   Stage #2
02/08/06 at 21:33:32

We have skipped forward several months of work and parts from Stage #1. By now, I have smoothed and painted the firewall,
painted all the front end pieces and front frame rails, removed the old body mounts and replaced them with new poly-urethane ones. I also taped off all the glass, removed all body molding and emblems and gave it a coat of primer. (anything looks better than faded blue and rust) I purchased a set of corvette rallys from a friend for it to roll around on until the day came to put on drag slicks and front runners.

A special Thanks to Chris for helping me with this motor, I had never built one before, but wanted to, and he was patient and knowledgeable, helping me throughout the entire process. It is a Chevy small block 350 that was punched 30 to be a 355. Comp 280 Magnum cam, Headman headers, Weiand single plane intake, and a holly 650 on top.

Next, I began the tedious task of re-assembling the front clip. First the grill, filler piece, and then the inner fenders were bolted on.

Then I installed the passenger side fender, this took a little effort, it seemed as though nothing wanted to align properly, and I was cautious not to scratch the fresh paint.

The engine bay after all that hard work, I debated on re-installing the inner fenders, lots of guys don't run them, but I believe it pulls the whole thing together and makes the motor stand out.

Thanks Guys!
Currently I've got a turbo 350 trans.
The rear end was one I bought just for the multi-leaf setup- but it has 2.73
As soon as I'm finished w/ the fuel system, I will go w/ 4.10's and a posi.
