I know someone that plays with bugs wouldnt have any idea what horsepower is all about. At the US Nationals, there was only one good lane. There are 5 chances to qualify. Out of those 5 chances, only 2 were good weather, track tempeture, etc. If you didnt get the good lane, you were screwed. I know that sounds like excuses, but with everyone running so close, every .100 of secend makes a big differene. Force said after Eric was killed, he was more interested in making cars safe, not winning. He is still breathing, he is a threat to win championship. Remember he owns Hights car, if it wins, he wins. I bet he wins at least 2 of the remaining events. That is a short version of what happened. Stick to commenting on volkswagon stuff, not anything that has to do with Men and Women who know how to drive vehicles that make real HP.

gitdowns, i have been following drag racing since 1970, before they talked about "reaction times" and used delay boxes.... i remember bill jenkins racing a vega when pro stock was just started. ace mccullogh drove the revellution duster funny car. and some guy named bernstein spanked forces a$$ for years in funny car. cory mcclenathans first funny car was vw karmann ghia bodied and used a air cooled engine. just because a person does not have a drag car does not mean they don't know jack schitt about drag racing. i know that drag racing is a matter of thousands and not hundreths, i just started the thread to stir the pot at chevy speed and to liven it up a bit.

some 1/4 mile facts:

e.t. and speed A/dragster-(turbo air cooled engine 4 cyl) 6.60 at 203.98

TxPRA pro stock (bug, carbed air cooled engine 4 cyl ) 9.66 at 138.64

PRA pro/mod (bug, turbo air cooled 4 cyl) 8.67 at 161.61

NHRA g/dragster( 4 cyl. rabbit engine) 9.11 at 139.93

and volkswagen is spelled with an "e" not an "o". come out to my house some evening and i'll take you for a spin around the farm in my junk......

I also notice guys they cant handle anything but dorkswagons are limp wristed, but that is just an observation. I try to avoid getting around them.
