Anyone running 16 volt batteries? On the street? With or without an alternator?

I will be purchasing a new battery in the next few weeks, I really like the optima.
Would you recommend a yellow top or just a red top?
thanks,
JB

I run yellow tops also. They seem to be able to deep cycle better than the reds. IMO

I am going to run the powermaster compact 100amp snug fit. With the yellow top also.

You run the 100 or the 50amp?

Did you see they even has one that you can reduce the voltage right before a run?

Chris,
Is one battery for ignition, and the other for accessories?

I guess since I don't start mine everyday I would be better off with a yellow top.
Because it will hold a charge longer-- right?
thanks,

JB

I'm running a red in mine and I works great and seems to last for ever thew only time I've ever had to recharge it was when something had been left on.
