Well gang, since the Camaro's Paint job is about to turn 20 this year :'(, I decided to give it a face lift along with its new motor and tranny. Here a few pic of the in progress stage.

I have been actually very luck. The few spots of bondo are about all I have had to do. There are a couple of other spots to hit, but that will be it. Just fill in the paint chips and small hail dings and she will be ready for a fresh seal coat. :)

I think that black is the best bet to go back with instead of a new color. Besides, if I want to ad graphics later black would be a better canvas.

It is unfortunate that ticket prices have grown as much as they have since then. That $6.75 ticket would cost you an easy $75 even for a nose bleed section ticket. :-? As a matter of fact, I looked up Huey Lewis and the News tickets in the Norman area for next month and they were cheap at $58 and change. :'( Don't worry about the car getting redressed, I would have had it in color today, but with a trip to WF and the machine shop and taking an intersession class this weekend, I just ran out of time. It will get there though. Not to worry. ;) I did get this much done though. This is still pretty wet when I took these so there is no color sanding or buffing yet.

The glare from the light is a lot of what you are seeing along with a dirty camera lens. :-[ I should have some more done next week if not sooner. :)

We now have color and shine. 8-) Well, on most of it anyways. There are still small parts to spray. ;) These were taken right after the clear went on so once again, nothing is even dry and smoothed yet.

As for the concerts, my first was Cheap Trick in '81 at the Lloyd Noble Center. The price was 8.75. I've got tickets for George Strait this friday at the Ford Center. Only 154.00 for two tickets in the nosebleeds!! Oh well I've wanted to see him for awhile. Keep up the good work Hamp! Monte |
