Well, I've put it off long enough, I have decided to start on the body work.
There was a large section of the rear quarter panel that had been repaired and was cracking badly.... So, armed with an air chisel, I went to work 8-) |

The dark colored rust spots are where the bondo was cracked and water leaked in before I got the car.

Looks good Jared! I bet you're glad that is over with! I'm no body man so anyone that does it themselves has my respect and admiration! I assume it's still going to be red eventually?

Just got back from Bob Wesco's
I got the parking lights that go in the front bumper. I also ordered a new front bumper. should be in next week! Update: Last night I finished working on the headlights and parking/brake lights. Also began rebuild of the front brakes. It's great to be working on it again. JB |

Title: Re: Project Super Nova Body Work Post by robztrux on 08/08/07 at 16:35:48
sweet did you ever find a disc brake setup? if not it would be a good excuse to buy a brake hone for the rear end project.
|
Title: Re: Project Super Nova Body Work Post by Jared Black on 08/09/07 at 08:01:49
Well, I'm finished with the front brakes-
Rob, no disc brakes yet (just rebuilt the drums) I just wanted to make the car safer to drive; 2 of the 4 pistons in the wheel cylinders were stuck. I also replaced the flex lines from the framerail to the wheel cylinder because the old ones were exremely craked and in bad shape. JB |
