i just got word that test and tune day was cancled and will be reschedule weather permitting

so it looks like another boring weekend in altus america but hey at least nascar is on sunday...

Thanks for the heads up. I think I will finish buttoning up the top end of my motor this weekend instead.

Cool gives me more time to figure out my NOS mess. Well I guess me and the Malibu will be there the next weekend then.

i need to find some 10" wide 15's for my '84 1/2 ton truck to mount my slicks on do you guys know of anyone who might have them laying around? all i can find are some 8's. thanx

I think you can still get the cheap steel chrome nuggets or wagons from smiles for about fifty bucks, but I had steel wheels on my car when I started and went to centerline alum. and picked up about 3/4 of a sec in the 1/8. It still sounds like alot to me but that's what happened to mine. Some people say to doesnt make that big of a difference. They call it "rolling weight" if you wanted to research it. Before you buy some wheels I usually try not to spend money twice(although just putting the slicks on will pick it up alot.

Back in my street racing days I had a great set of steel pontiac wheels that I mounted my 26 x 8.5 slicks on. They were heavy but worked great. Like rob said the lighter the wheel the better but it all depends on what you are going for.

well i have 27.5 x 12's and im pretty sure i need at least a 10" wide rim for them puppies, i found some in jegs for like $50 a piece and i think im just gonna do that they dont have to be anything pretty for now anyways just somethin to get some better traction than radials

Not a bad idea at all. Should work well. I used to always paint my wheels black that I used with my slicks. That what they knew I was using them  =)

My new slicks are 33 x 16 Hoosiers using 15 x 15 Convo pros. I can't wait till I get them up under my car!

sweet, i can't wait till i actually need something that big lol, im planning on going to the next scheduled test and tune in lawton and id like to see yalls cars run and to meet some of yall

well i got my slicks mounted on some 8in. wide rims dont ask me how we did it, all i got to say is it took 30 minutes, 2 machines, and a 230lb guy to get the beads to seat haha. this weekend looks to be in the 60's and test and tune is (to my knowledge, ive been checkin the boards) still on, gates open at 10 racing starts at 11 weather permitting of course.  not sure if im gonna be able to make it, i had a fuel line problem which put a damper in the money situation but ya know how that goes....

Can't wait to see the slicks all mounted up. I bet they look huge on 8 inch rims.
